Suiteki is a set of J2ME (Java) japanese language related applications for your mobile phone. Features; word dictionary (EDICT type), kanji dictionary (KANJIDIC2 type), word/kanji lists, flashcards and even a manga viewer! Of course, with kana and kanji input and display for non japanese phones.
Suiteki2 is the newest suiteki application designed for middle end mobile phones (MIDP 2.0 devices). It features a word dictionary, kanji dictionary, word lists and a manga viewer. All in just one big application. Take a look to the flash tutorials to watch it in action and learn how to use.
WARNING!
Suiteki2 makes use of JSR 075 / PDA Optional (FileConnection API). This means two important things; the first one is that if your phone does not support that API, you will not be able to use the manga viewer and word list features. Only the word and kanji dictionaries will work. The second one, is that each time that the application tries to access the file system of your phone a scary message will warn you with something like: suiteki2 is trying to read/write your data. Don't panic, all it's ok, just give suiteki2 access or you will not be able to use manga viewer and word list features.
The phones listed here might be able to run suiteki2 with all features. The ones listed here should at least run the dictionaries. But, even if your phone is not listed there, try the application.
Source code will be released A.S.A.P.
Suiteki1 is a set of applications designed for low end mobile phones (MIDP 1.0 devices), so it should work on almost all phone with java support. It is a basic japanese kanji learning software (using flashcards). Learn the 1006 Kyouiku Kanji ("education kanji") and their ON/KUN readings, plus their meanings in english, portuguese or spanish.
(*) GUI is always in english, only meanings are translated.
